In 2017 Pippa was first Female Lead BT to be appointed at the London's American Bar sense Ada Coleman, more than 100 years ago.

โšฐ๏ธ Death in the Afternoon ๐Ÿœ๏ธ

  • 0.5 oz Absinthe (I'm using Glacier Distilling) โ„๏ธ
  • 1 Sugar Cube ๐Ÿฌ
  • Champagne or Sparkling Wine ๐Ÿพ
  • Twist of Lemon ๐Ÿ‹
  • Method:Place a sugar cube ๐Ÿฌ in your flute ๐Ÿฅ‚.Add a couple drops of water ๐Ÿ’ง to begin dissolving the sugar.Add 0.5 oz Absinthe ๐ŸŒฟ.Top with Champagne or sparkling Wine ๐Ÿพ.

Garnish: ๐Ÿ‹โœจ With the fancy side of your lemon twist facing the top of your drink ๐Ÿธ, give a quick squeeze and watch the oils alight โœจ on the milky surface ๐Ÿ’š. Curl it ๐ŸŒ€ and distinctly drop it into the effervescent liquid ๐Ÿซง.

Take a moment... โณ 3 deep breaths....and think of 3 things you have gladly let go of or moved out of your life today or in the past 3 months/years๐Ÿ—‘๏ธโžก๏ธ๐Ÿšช. No need to go to deep if you don't want...This could be as mundane as taking out the trash, recycling and cleaning out the closet ๐Ÿšฎ.

After you have taken your moment bring the drink up to your nose ๐Ÿ‘ƒ, breathe in the aroma and take a sip tasting the anise notes ๐ŸŒฟ of the absinthe blended with the oils โœจ and the brioche, citrus and stone flavors ๐Ÿฅ‚ of the Champagne ๐Ÿพ. Relish in the details of your first teasing sip ๐Ÿ˜‹.

Phylloxera ๐Ÿฆ  The Green Fairy ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Ah, Absinthe ๐Ÿ’š, the Green Fairy ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ, that potent, anise-laced elixir ๐ŸŒฟ. Its story, like its flavor, is complex ๐ŸŒ€. When the phylloxera plague ๐Ÿ› ravaged Europe's vineyards ๐Ÿ‡, wine ๐Ÿท and brandy ๐Ÿฅƒ, the lubricant of social gatherings, nearly vanished ๐Ÿ“‰. People, seeking a solace ๐Ÿ˜Œ from the anxieties ๐Ÿ˜ฐ of the time, turned to a new muse: absinthe.

This emerald spirit ๐Ÿ’Ž became the darling of the bohemian set ๐ŸŽจ, inspiring artists like Van Gogh ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ, Picasso ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ, Monet ๐Ÿž๏ธ, Toulouse-Lautrec ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ, and Degas ๐ŸŽญ. Their embrace of absinthe helped fuel its mystique โœจ and propel its popularity.

But success breeds envy ๐Ÿ. As the wine ๐Ÿท and brandy ๐Ÿฅƒ industries sought to recover, they found their market usurped by absinthe. Rather than competing fairly โš–๏ธ, they launched a smear campaign ๐Ÿ“ข, focusing on wormwood ๐Ÿƒ and its compound, thujone ๐Ÿงช. While high doses of thujone can indeed cause hallucinations ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ and seizures โšก, the amount in absinthe was and is minimal ๐Ÿค. Ironically, wormwood also possesses medicinal properties ๐Ÿต, combating parasites ๐Ÿฆ  from contaminated water ๐Ÿ’ง.

The supposed hallucinatory effects likely stemmed from the spirit's high alcohol content ๐Ÿง–๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ or, at times, its questionable quality ๐Ÿค”. Nonetheless, the smear campaign ๐Ÿ’ฉ left a lasting stain ๐Ÿšซ on absinthe's reputation.

There's so much more to this story ๐Ÿ“š, for another time perhaps โณ.

Now, take a sip of your Death in the Afternoon ๐Ÿธ, or whatever your preferred beverage concoction for the Full Moon Lunar eclipse may be ๐ŸŒ’. Close your eyes and imagine a solitary green fairy ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ, a hermit ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ amidst the mountainous regions โ›ฐ๏ธ. Why couldn't a fairy choose a life of solitude ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝ? I see no reason why not.

When you're ready, let's delve into some Tarot ๐Ÿ”ฎ.

The Hermit & Virgo

Hermit & Virgo: Virgo where this full moon is wants to get systems correct โœ… so that any and all shenanigans work โš™๏ธ and not just work but work perfectly!

Virgo โ™ conveniently, reflecting details ๐Ÿ“, analytical thinking ๐Ÿง , and critical evaluation ๐Ÿง.

The Hermit ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธis the Tarot Card that is connected to Virgo. Every year or day, when I pick this card ๐Ÿƒ, I am drawn to the pinpoint ๐Ÿ“ of my present moment.
The Hermit card is an invitation to become clear on details ๐Ÿง, โœจ As clear as we can in this moment. From there we then make our choices, decide what "move" we are going to make next. With that in mind for this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ‘ where can you allow shenanigans to work, but without having to make it perfect ๐Ÿ˜Œ.

Where are you being invited to understand all the details ๐Ÿ“š and allow them to be as good as you can get them in the moment โณ, and then let them go ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ. It might be easier to do this knowing after letting go, we always have the option to comb through again ๐Ÿงน. The important part is to focus, lead from the heart โค๏ธ then do โœ…, but not grip โœŠ.

When one pairs this card ๐Ÿƒ with Death in the Afternoon ๐Ÿธ, the afternoon โ˜€๏ธ is when the sun is at its highest point โฌ†๏ธ. It is a point in which our focus is brought ๐ŸŽฏ, and there is still daylight, we have a clear understanding and by having that clarity ๐Ÿ’ก... nothing is impeding us from our next mode of action ๐Ÿš€. Doesn't need to be perfect.
Maybe the medicine of this card at this time is allowing yourself to not be perfect cuz really, is there such thing as perfection?
I'm gonna take a sip of my beverage now and I am toasting to you ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ‘

I am truly glad you are here! If you have yet to while contemplating my totally DEEP thoughts, press play on this weeks #04 Lunar CC&T Jams ๐ŸŽถ Much Respect.
