For this Full Moon CC&T 🌕, pour your favorite beverage 🍹 or make with me my favorite recipe of ⚰️Death in the Afternoon🏜️ created by Pippa Guy from her book "Let's Get Fizzical" . In 2017 Pippa was first Female Lead BT to be appointed at the London's American Bar sense Ada Coleman, more than 100 years ago.

Gather Tools 🛠️ Ingredients :

• Measuring Device 📏
• Long Spoon 🥄
• Flute 🥂 or Fancy Glass 🍸

Ingredients 🌿:

• Absinthe 💚
• Sugar Cube 🍬
• Champagne 🍾 or Sparkling Wine 🥂
• Lemon Twist 🍋

Your “mise” is ready , let's create some alchemy ✨🧪

⚰️ Death in the Afternoon 🏜️

• 0.5 oz Absinthe (I'm using Glacier Distilling) ❄️
• 1 Sugar Cube 🍬
• Champagne or Sparkling Wine 🍾
• Twist of Lemon 🍋
• Method:Place a sugar cube 🍬 in your flute 🥂.Add a couple drops of water 💧 to begin dissolving the sugar.Add 0.5 oz Absinthe 🌿.Top with Champagne or sparkling Wine 🍾.

Garnish: 🍋✨ With the fancy side of your lemon twist facing the top of your drink 🍸, give a quick squeeze and watch the oils alight ✨ on the milky surface 💚. Curl it 🌀 and distinctly drop it into the effervescent liquid 🫧.

Take a moment... ⏳ 3 deep breaths....and think of 3 things you have gladly let go of or moved out of your life today or in the past 3 months/years🗑️➡️🚪. No need to go to deep if you don't want...This could be as mundane as taking out the trash, recycling and cleaning out the closet 🚮.

After you have taken your moment bring the drink up to your nose 👃, breathe in the aroma and take a sip tasting the anise notes 🌿 of the absinthe blended with the oils ✨ and the brioche, citrus and stone flavors 🥂 of the Champagne 🍾. Relish in the details of your first teasing sip 😋.

Phylloxera 🦠 The Green Fairy 🧚🏽‍♂️

Ah, Absinthe 💚, the Green Fairy 🧚🏽‍♂️, that potent, anise-laced elixir 🌿. Its story, like its flavor, is complex 🌀. When the phylloxera plague 🐛 ravaged Europe's vineyards 🍇, wine 🍷 and brandy 🥃, the lubricant of social gatherings, nearly vanished 📉. People, seeking a solace 😌 from the anxieties 😰 of the time, turned to a new muse: absinthe.

This emerald spirit 💎 became the darling of the bohemian set 🎨, inspiring artists like Van Gogh 🖼️, Picasso 🖌️, Monet 🏞️, Toulouse-Lautrec 👯‍♀️, and Degas 🎭. Their embrace of absinthe helped fuel its mystique ✨ and propel its popularity.

But success breeds envy 🐍. As the wine 🍷 and brandy 🥃 industries sought to recover, they found their market usurped by absinthe. Rather than competing fairly ⚖️, they launched a smear campaign 📢, focusing on wormwood 🍃 and its compound, thujone 🧪. While high doses of thujone can indeed cause hallucinations 😵‍💫 and seizures ⚡, the amount in absinthe was and is minimal 🤏. Ironically, wormwood also possesses medicinal properties 🍵, combating parasites 🦠 from contaminated water 💧.

The supposed hallucinatory effects likely stemmed from the spirit's high alcohol content 🧖🏻‍♀️ or, at times, its questionable quality 🤔. Nonetheless, the smear campaign 💩 left a lasting stain 🚫 on absinthe's reputation.

There's so much more to this story 📚, for another time perhaps ⏳.

Now, take a sip of your Death in the Afternoon 🍸, or whatever your preferred beverage concoction for the Full Moon Lunar eclipse may be 🌒. Close your eyes and imagine a solitary green fairy 🧚🏾‍♀️, a hermit 🕯️ amidst the mountainous regions ⛰️. Why couldn't a fairy choose a life of solitude 🧘🏽? I see no reason why not.

The Hermit 🕯️is the Tarot Card that is connected to Virgo. Every year or day, when I pick this card 🃏, I am drawn to the pinpoint 📍 of my present moment.
The Hermit card is an invitation to become clear on details 🧐, ✨ As clear as we can in this moment. From there we then make our choices, decide what "move" we are going to make next. With that in mind for this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 🌕🌑 where can you allow shenanigans to work, but without having to make it perfect 😌.

Where are you being invited to understand all the details 📚 and allow them to be as good as you can get them in the moment ⏳, and then let them go 🕊️. It might be easier to do this knowing after letting go, we always have the option to comb through again 🧹. The important part is to focus, lead from the heart ❤️ then do ✅, but not grip ✊.

When one pairs this card 🃏 with Death in the Afternoon 🍸, the afternoon ☀️ is when the sun is at its highest point ⬆️. It is a point in which our focus is brought 🎯, and there is still daylight, we have a clear understanding and by having that clarity 💡... nothing is impeding us from our next mode of action 🚀. Doesn't need to be perfect.
Maybe the medicine of this card at this time is allowing yourself to not be perfect cuz really, is there such thing as perfection?
